If you look for a low-light plant, snake plants are one of the best choices. The plant is grown for its beautiful foliage of various color patterns and its sword-like leaves with varying sizes. Snake plants are proven highly efficient air purifiers while releasing oxygen even in a sealed space.

Care tips

Snake plants grow with various soil types. However, sandy, well-draining soils are the best choices. The plants survive a wide range of light conditions from very dim light to partial direct sunlight. Bright, indirect light is the best for the plants to thrive. Allow soil dry to the touch before watering. Snake plants do well with normal room temperatures and tolerate as low as 50°F but cannot stand frost conditions. Feed the plants with a houseplant fertilizer at a reduced strength during the growing season. No feeding is necessary during the winter months.
